Double celebration as Warrendale Wagyu named finalist in Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards

We’re delighted to share some more fantastic news for the Warrendale farming community, with two Warrendale Wagyu products named as finalists in the 2026 Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards.

Our British Wagyu Brisket and British Wagyu Fillet Steak have both been shortlisted in the Best Fresh Meat category, putting Warrendale among some of Yorkshire’s leading meat producers.

The Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards celebrate the very best food and drink produced across Yorkshire and the Humber and are now in their 22nd year. This year attracted a record number of entries, which were assessed by a panel of industry experts including chefs, supermarket buyers, food writers and consultants.

To have not one, but two British Wagyu cuts reach the final is something everyone across the Warrendale supply chain can be proud of.

Recognition that starts on farm

While it is the finished product that goes before the judges, producing exceptional beef starts much earlier.

Every Warrendale Wagyu steak is the culmination of years of work throughout our integrated supply chain – from genetics, calf rearing and nutrition through to growing and finishing.

Most importantly, it starts with our farmers.

The care, attention to detail and stockmanship shown by our farming partners throughout an animal’s lifetime ultimately determines the quality of beef we can produce.

Having both brisket and fillet recognised is particularly pleasing. They are very different cuts, and being shortlisted for both demonstrates the quality and versatility of British Wagyu beef.

Another endorsement for British Wagyu

The news follows an exceptional period for Warrendale Wagyu.

Our British Wagyu Brisket was recently awarded three stars at the 2026 Great Taste Awards, placing it among the highest-rated products in the competition.

That was followed by our success at the 2026 World Steak Challenge, where our British Wagyu Fillet, Ribeye and Sirloin each received Gold awards.

To now have both our Fillet and Brisket shortlisted by Deliciously Yorkshire provides further independent recognition of the eating quality our farmers and wider supply chain are working so hard to deliver.

Awards are not what drive us, but independent recognition is important. Every accolade helps us demonstrate to retailers and consumers that British Wagyu can deliver exceptional and consistent quality.

In turn, building that reputation helps us develop demand and create a strong, sustainable market for the cattle produced by our farming partners.

Celebrating Yorkshire food and farming

Being recognised by Deliciously Yorkshire has an additional significance for Warrendale.

Yorkshire is our home, and we are proud to be part of a region with such a strong agricultural and food-producing heritage.

The Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards have grown to become the largest awards of their kind in the North of England, celebrating businesses from across the region and the people behind them.

The 2026 winners will be announced at the Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards ceremony at the Pavilions of Harrogate on Tuesday 3 November.

Whatever happens on the night, having two products reach the final is already an achievement worth celebrating.
