Warrendale wins another Great Taste Award

Warrendale Wagyu has earned one of the highest honours in fine food, receiving a coveted three‑star Great Taste award for its British Wagyu Brisket — the top accolade available in the world’s largest and most respected food and drink accreditation scheme. Run by the Guild of Fine Food, Great Taste is the world’s largest accreditation scheme and a three-star award is the biggest accolade a product can win.

Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, judged more than 15,000 entries this year, with only around 1.8% achieving the prestigious three‑star rating. Warrendale’s brisket impressed judges with its exceptional flavour, texture and depth — a result of the signature Wagyu marbling that melts beautifully during slow cooking.

Why our brisket stands out

British Wagyu Brisket is at its best when slow‑cooked, braised, smoked or roasted, allowing the marbling to render gently into the meat. The result is a luxurious, melt‑in‑the‑mouth finish that has become a hallmark of Warrendale’s beef.

The judges of the meat category said: ‘A handsome piece of brisket with a succulent layer of unctuous fat, this has a punchy depth of flavour that is often missing in British Wagyu. This is complemented by the expected tenderness of the Wagyu. Well-reared, evidencing good husbandry and well-butchered, it is a rare treat.

Leadership reaction

Tom Richardson, Managing Director at Warrendale Wagyu, said:

“We are thrilled to have won this award that reinforces our goal to produce Britain’s best tasting beef. It’s great news for everyone across our quality supply chain, from our farmers working to the highest welfare standards to our highly skilled butchery team; we are making superior products everyone is proud of.”

Building on continued recognition

This latest achievement follows a strong track record in Great Taste awards:

  • 2023: One‑star awards for Wagyu Brisket and Wagyu Flat Iron Steak
  • 2024: Two stars for Wagyu Denver Steak and one star each for the Beef Bourguignon Dine‑In Meal and Warrendale fat‑washed WA‑GYN

Three‑star winners are now considered for the Great Taste Golden Forks, celebrating the very best food and drink worldwide. Warrendale will discover in September whether its brisket has secured one of these top honours.

In 2026 our Flat Iron, Picanha and Sirloin steaks were all also given one-star awards

Further opportunity

Three-star winners are offered an opportunity to enter the Great Taste Golden Fork awards, which celebrate the best food and drink products from around the world. We will find out if we have won a Golden Fork in September.
