Warrendale: King of the burger!
We love nothing more than celebrating the hard work of our farmer partners around the UK. We have a big reason to get excited this week as Burger King UK launched the Wagyu.
We are pleased to let you know that Warrendale is providing Burger King with our high-quality Wagyu and it is all thanks to our farmers.
Two of our farmer community – Guy Warcup from Letham Hill Farm in Northumberland and Hamish Dykes from Slipperfield Farm near West Linton in the Scottish Borders – participated in a day’s filming with the Burger King team. Burger King are really keen to showcase the provenance of the burger and celebrate the important role farmers play in providing the UK with high quality beef.
Both Guy and Hamish got to see the Wagyu being unveiled at Burger King’s flagship store in the Strand, London on 4 September, along with Managing Director of Warrendale, Tom Richardson. They even got to talk to Gordon Ramsay, who helped create the amazing burger.
Tom said, ‘To see the hard work of Warrendale farmers being celebrated as part of the Burger King gourmet range, is fantastic. It just demonstrates that the interest and popularity in Wagyu beef continues to grow’. He continued: ‘We are really excited to see it rolled out nationwide’.
The Wagyu is a deliciously seasoned flame grilled Wagyu burger with sweet, caramelised onions, pink pickled onions, crispy onions, peppery rocket and creamy caramelised onion mayo, served in a soft, seeded brioche bun and is launched on 9 September and available across the UK. Check out https://www.burgerking.co.uk/ to find where you can enjoy the Wagyu.
Officially launched on 9 September, Burger King has launched a number of adverts promoting the gourmet delight, as well as creating lots of press mentions. See the advert in full here.
