Statement from Warrendale directors on legal matters

“Warrendale Wagyu began as a family farm and, despite substantial growth in recent years, we remain a relatively small organisation, rooted in farming values. Many of our team come from long-standing farming families and continue to farm today. These principles of integrity, fairness, and respect for the farming community guide every aspect of our business.

Over the past year, Warrendale has been involved in a legal dispute with RD Livestock. We have not commented publicly while proceedings were ongoing, as we believed doing so could compromise the integrity of the process.

We are very pleased to be able to say that the matter has now been resolved under confidential terms, but we do want to be able to provide some context. Firstly, we have never wanted to be involved in litigation with one of our partner farmers. However, all of our attempts to avoid litigation with RD Livestock were unsuccessful and ultimately cattle were sold outside of our Wagyu scheme such that we had to protect our business and that of our partner farmers.

The public discussion surrounding this case has, at times, portrayed Warrendale as a large corporate entity acting without regard for RD Livestock’s circumstances. This depiction is far removed from who we are. The situation has also resulted in unwarranted negativity directed towards our staff, who work hard to support our farming partners and uphold the values on which Warrendale was built.

Transparency, fairness, and responsible partnership remain central to our ethos and informs all of our decision-making. We operate a supply chain designed to support hard-working farmers and to ensure trust at every stage.

Warrendale remains committed to working collaboratively with our farming community and to ensuring that our supply chain continues to operate with the integrity and respect it was founded upon.”
