Wagyu launched in Dutch supermarket chain

Wagyu continues to expand its global popularity with the Netherlands now opting for a premium range in leading supermarket chain Albert Heijn.

Products in the range include a roast beef joint, rump steak and a ribeye steaks. The products are described as delicious beef from the United Kingdom.

Albert Heijn started in 1887 in Oostzaan and now has over 1,200 stores throughout the Netherlands and over 125,000 employees. The brand has expanded into online, express stores and franchises. Stores have a range of foodstuffs, including in-store chefs in the large venues.

Albert Heijn has been promoting the range through influencer marketing, by inspiring audiences through recipes. So far the videos have reached a large number of viewers. In this one, Influencer ‘A Twisted chef’ creates a roast beef and vegetables dish. The post reads: ‘@a_twisted_chef knows the perfect holiday dish: Wagyu roast beef from @albertheijn with crispy potatoes and roasted Brussel sprouts.
