Jim Bloom to step down as CEO for Chairmanship

Leadership Transition at Warrendale Group Strengthens Strategic Direction

Yorkshire-based Warrendale Group has announced a series of senior leadership changes to support its next phase of ambitious growth across the UK agricultural and food supply chain.

Since its formation in 1987, Warrendale has grown into one of the UK’s most dynamic agri-food businesses, working closely with producers, processors, and retailers to deliver premium products and sustainable growth.

As part of a planned leadership transition, Jim Bloom will move from his role as Chief Executive Officer to become Chairman of the Warrendale Group Board.

Mr Bloom commented:

“When we started the business in 1987, little did we think we could grow it into the exciting group of companies that exists today. What is even more exciting is where it can go in the future. With the right people, structure and focus, Warrendale will continue to grow and strengthen.

‘Moving into the role of Chairman allows me to concentrate on steering the strategic direction of the group as we continue our evolution.”

From December 2025, Ian Hamilton, CEO of Terraprotein, will take on the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. Ian will work closely with the Board and executive team to refine Warrendale’s strategic plan, strengthen governance and resources, and oversee the appointment of a permanent CEO during 2026.

James Thornton continues as Chief Operating Officer (COO), responsible for day-to-day operations and performance across the group.

Mr Bloom added:

“Having additional resource in the form of such experienced industry leaders positions Warrendale for accelerated growth, while maintaining the continuity of leadership that our partners, producers, and customers value. This structure ensures that we can focus on where Warrendale can go in the future — an exciting prospect for everyone involved.”

These appointments underline Warrendale’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development, farmer collaboration, and long-term investment in the UK’s agricultural supply chain.
